The intake call
You describe your situation, your substance history, and your animal in one conversation. Admissions handles both at once.

PET FRIENDLY TREATMENT
Pet friendly rehab is residential addiction treatment you enter without rehoming your animal for the length of your stay. Bliss Recovery welcomes approved pets at select residences in the Hollywood Hills, so the routine that keeps you steady comes with you into care. Approval is individual, reviewed alongside your clinical plan and the residence you are placed in.
AT A GLANCE
THE PET FRIENDLY FORMAT
It means your animal stays with you rather than with a sitter, a family member, or a boarding facility while you are in residential care. We welcome approved pets at select residences, and we treat that as a real part of the plan rather than a perk. The comfort and continuity a familiar animal provides can hold a person steady through the hardest weeks of early treatment.
It also means a decision, not a guarantee. Bringing your pet is subject to individual approval to protect the wellbeing of every client in the house. Six clients live in each residence. One animal changes the whole household, so the answer depends on your pet, your placement, and who else is in care at the time.
What it is not: pet friendly accommodation is a living arrangement, not a clinical intervention. Animal assisted therapy is a separate, clinician-led practice. Nothing about having your dog or cat on site substitutes for medical care, psychiatry, or the therapy hours that do the work.
WHO WE SERVE
Adults entering residential addiction or dual diagnosis treatment in Los Angeles who will not, or cannot, leave an animal behind. In practice that tends to be:
If your animal has medical needs, handling requirements, or a history that needs discussing, raise it on the first call. That conversation is easier before arrival than after.

APPROVAL, STEP BY STEP
Approval runs through admissions, alongside the rest of your intake. Here is what that involves.
| Step | What Happens | What We Need From You |
|---|---|---|
| Confidential intake call | You tell us about your situation and your animal at the same time. | Your pet's type, breed, and weight. |
| Records review | We confirm the animal's vaccination status. | Current vaccination records from your veterinarian. |
| Clinical and placement review | Our clinical team reviews your treatment plan and which residence fits. | Any medical, handling, or behavioral details we should know. |
| Confirmation | Admissions confirms whether your pet is approved and for which residence. | A decision on arrival timing and travel. |
Two things worth saying plainly:
CARE, FROM DETOX THROUGH AFTERCARE
Pet accommodation lives in the residential setting, because that is where you sleep in the house. The rest of the continuum is where your clinical plan starts and where it goes next.
CLINICAL SCOPE
Bringing your pet does not narrow what we treat. Residential care at Bliss Recovery covers nine substances, from alcohol and opiates through stimulants, benzodiazepines, and prescription medication, with dual diagnosis capability as the clinical anchor underneath all of it.
WHOLE-PERSON CARE
Most people who arrive here are carrying more than a substance problem. Anxiety, depression, PTSD, and bipolar disorder shape how treatment has to be built, and treating one without the other tends not to hold. Our co-occurring disorders program runs psychiatric evaluation and medication management inside residential care rather than as an add-on, so your clinical plan is built with both sides in view.
Pet accommodation is reviewed inside that plan. If your treatment involves medication management, secure storage is part of how the household runs when an animal is present.
THE CLINICAL WORK
Your therapy hours do not change because your dog is in the house. The clinical work is the same work.
Individual therapy runs five days a week with the same clinician from admission through aftercare. Group programming, psychiatric care, and medical oversight run alongside it, and our clinical approach explains how those pieces are sequenced. Yoga, meditation, acupuncture, massage, and hiking round out the week without pretending to be the treatment.
ADMISSIONS AND ARRIVAL
You describe your situation, your substance history, and your animal in one conversation. Admissions handles both at once.
We check your benefits at no cost before you commit to anything.
Our clinical team builds your treatment plan and confirms which residence and which level of care fit.
Admissions confirms whether your pet is approved, for which residence, and what to bring for them.
Arrivals are handled discreetly. Alongside your own packing list, bring your animal's food, medication, bedding, crate or carrier, and vaccination paperwork.
Your clinician reviews how the plan is landing, including how the household is working with your animal in it, and adjusts.
BENEFITS AND COVERAGE
We handle insurance verification at no cost and in confidence, before you commit to anything. We are in network with HealthSmart, MultiPlan, PMCS, and TriWest. We work with most major PPO plans out of network, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Aetna, United Healthcare, Anthem, Beacon, First Health, Health Net, Magellan, Optum, and PHCS. We do not accept HMO plans or Medi-Cal.
What your specific plan covers depends on your plan and your clinical need, which is exactly what the benefits check is for. Bring the pet question to that same call so admissions can answer it in one pass.
A PLACE TO HEAL
LAKEVIEW RESIDENCE
2780 Creston Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90068
Lakeview looks out over Lake Hollywood toward the Hollywood Sign. Natural light and open outdoor space carry the room, which lowers the ambient stress that competes with clinical work. Private suites, chef-prepared meals, managed phone access, and secure WiFi.
SPANISH VILLA RESIDENCE
2816 Durand Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90068
Spanish Villa is classic Spanish architecture with deep landscaping on a quiet hillside street. The feel is closer to reclaiming something than enduring something. Private suites, the same clinical staffing, the same confidentiality protocols.
Two residences give us placement flexibility that a single facility does not. For pet-friendly care, that matters, because clinical judgment sometimes calls for separate residences during stabilization while you stay inside the same program with the same team.

WHY BLISS RECOVERY
SMALL BY DESIGN
Twelve clients across two houses, with a maximum of six clients per therapist. Small enough that bringing an animal into the household is a real conversation rather than an automatic no.
QUIETLY RUN
Discreet arrivals and departures, no clinical signage, managed communications, and HIPAA-compliant handling from the first call. Privacy is the reason many clients choose us, and it extends to how a pet arrives with you.
CONNECTED CARE
Detox through residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and aftercare, with the same clinician following you across it. The luxury setting sits on top of real clinical infrastructure.
CLINICAL DEPTH
Psychiatric evaluation and medication management inside residential care, across nine substances and eight co-occurring conditions.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
Approved pets are welcome at select Bliss Recovery residences. Approval is individual rather than automatic, and admissions confirms your pet's type, breed, weight, and current vaccination records during intake. Raise it on your first call so it is settled before you travel.
No. Pets are welcome at select residences, and approval is tied to a specific house rather than the program as a whole. Which residence fits depends on your clinical plan, your animal, and who else is in care when you arrive.
Your pet's type, breed, and weight, plus current vaccination records from your veterinarian. Tell admissions about any medical, handling, or behavioral details as well, since those shape the placement decision.
Detox involves 24 hour medical monitoring, and where your animal is during that window is confirmed with admissions and your clinical team before you arrive. Ask on the intake call so the arrangement is set rather than improvised.
Insurance covers treatment, and what your plan covers depends on the plan and your clinical need. We verify benefits at no cost before you commit, and admissions can walk through the pet arrangement on the same call.
No. Pet accommodation is a living arrangement that lets your own animal stay with you. Animal assisted therapy is a structured, clinician-led practice with treatment goals attached. They are different things, and the first does not replace clinical care.
Admissions will tell you before you travel rather than at the door, and you will have a real conversation about options and timing. A no on the animal is not a no on treatment, and delaying care while you sort it out is the outcome we most want to avoid.
